Talking is easy. Writing is permanent.
That’s how I feel when I write, that every sentence has to be some perfect sculpture. It’s not like talking. Talking, you can say something and it’s gone in a moment. You have time to repeat, rephrase, correct yourself. But writing, that’s it, you’re done—etched in stone.
I wish I could write carefree. Sometimes I do, but more often than not I’m just endlessly rereading and rewriting the same sentences over and over again. (Even this post, barely four paragraphs, took half an hour of unnecessary self-editing.)
Someday I’ll learn, maybe, hopefully… But honestly? Probably not.
